Crossing the road event at designated points can be hazardous, as this student learnt on the day. He had waiting patiently to cross at traffic lights on Jalan Pahang at 11.50 am, but hadn't bargained for the reckless motorists. - In this case a RapidKL bus driver who blatanly chose to ignore the red light and speed through.
If the student had not been careful, or if a person who was visually challenged had attempted to cross the road, they would surely have become a statistic in the country's traffic fatality record.
More shameful is that the city's public transportation providers have no qualms about breaking the law.
